Brands

Here is a list of brands that are currently featured at Tuula Collective:

144 Stitches (@144stitches)

Michele is the owner and designer behind 144 Stitches. Since childhood, she has always loved fiber and texture and is on a mission to get the world into handmade cozy one stitch at a time.

In 2017, Michele founded Stitch Up Chicago, an annual event for fibre enthusiasts to come, learn, share and be inspired. In 2019, she closed the retail side of her business and now focusses solely on designing and community programs and events.

Michele lives outside Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.

Barley and Flax (@barleyandflax)

Michelle is the owner and knit/crochet designer behind Barley and Flax and currently lives in Rhinebeck, New York. She is also the talented designer behind our best-selling Leopard Print toque!

Cozy Creative Crochets (@cozycreativecrochets)

Heather is the owner of Cozy Creative Crochets, and is the momma to a beautiful 4 year old boy and a new baby girl. She opened her Etsy store in 2016, and now offers almost 100 crochet patterns for sale on her website.

Heather lives in New York State, U.S.A.

Hello Lavender (@hellolavenderdesign)

Reshma is the owner and maker behind Hello Lavender. She’s a knitter, crocheter, indie yarn dyer, and fiber jewelry designer.

She learned her love for fiber from her mom. At the curious age of 10, she watched her mom crochet and learned the skill as she made intricate patterns come to life. She finally taught herself how to knit in early 2016 and has been addicted ever since. Reshma’s desire is to live a life with fiber, knitting, and art at the center. The whole idea behind art is to create something out of nothing. Hello Lavender is my something.

Reshma lives in Woodstock, Illinois, U.S.A.

Rose & Purl (@roseandpurl)

Stacey is the face behind the blossoming company, Rose & Purl, where Tuula Collective purchases approximately 90% of our faux fur pom poms.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Victoria continues to be the place that Stacey is proud to call home. She is the mother of two young girls, and married to a local entrepreneur, who also happens to be her high school sweetheart.

Tuula Collective (@tuulacollective)

Tanya is the CEO and founder of Tuula Collective. Her mom taught her to knit and crochet at a very young age, and her love of fibre arts has only grown over the years. In 2015, Tanya opened her first crochet business, T’s Crochet Shoppe, which specialized in winter accessories for women. She quickly learned, however, that her two hands couldn’t keep up with the demand for handmade knitwear.

In May 2019, Tanya rebranded her business and relaunched as Tuula Collective. She has always been a very vocal and active supporter of other crochet and knitwear makers and designers, and is proud to be able to support 10 small businesses in her first collection (S/S 2019).

Tanya lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with her husband and mini golden doodle Bubba.

Two of Wands (@twoofwands)

Two of Wands, launched in 2014 by Alexandra Tavel, is a knitwear company with a modern approach to a timeless art form. Each finished item is handcrafted by Alexandra, taking anywhere from a few hours to over a week to meticulously create. The focus of Two of Wands is sophisticated knitwear made with simple stitches and techniques, with inspiration coming from the world around us - nature, history, culture, trends, and function.

By offering patterns of each design, Two of Wands encourages others to find their creative energy and join in the magic and mindfulness of hand knitting and crocheting.

White Owl Crochet Co. (@whiteowlcrochetco)

whiteowlcrochetco. began as a very small and humble crochet headband shop in 2016. While headbands are still a WOC favourite, many more handmade items have quickly become popular.

The CEO and founder of whiteowlcrochetco., Mollie Conrad, began knitting when she was a mere 4 years old. She taught herself to crochet much later during university as a method of mental relief (and procrastination)! Mollie currently handmakes all crochet and knitwear, faux fur poms, and sells patterns of her designs.

Mollie lives in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
